First time mom things #4. Do what you can.

I got bit by the 'all organic' and 'natural fibers' only bug, pretty soon after my son was born. Not only with his formula, but with diapers and all sorts of things. Listen, if you have the means to go all out, and use the highest grade all natural diapers, clothes, and skin products then you probably know just how privileged you are.

The rest of us have to give up on a little of that. Honestly diapers...why on earth do you have to be THAT dramatically priced?

To all the new moms out there, if you're an average citizen, I'm inviting you to adopt the 'Do what you can' method. Can you find decently priced 100% cotton sheets for the crib mattress? Do it. Can you find 100% organic snacks for the toddler to eat? Get it! Do they even make strollers with natural fibers, that won't release plastic toxins? Likely not.

Whenever I find a safer/more natural product that I can swap out the toxic ones with, I do it, especially if it's cost effective for me. Sometimes there's no way around it, and we just have to deal with that. It is what it is. It's not okay, and I hope there will be a time where our products aren't so full of synthetic, harmful ingredients and fibers. Until that time, I'm just doing my best with the knowledge that I have.

As a starting point, for those who are looking for suggestions, I have had my son in almost (as close as possible to) 100% cotton clothing since he was brand new. Most clothing, and socks have at least a little bit of spandex or elastane in them. Yes there were a few pajamas and outfits that I got him (or were gifted) that weren't cotton at all, and we'd use them sometimes, but I made it a habit to seek out anything as close to 100% Cotton as I could find, for him. His crib sheets are 100% cotton, as are all of his burp cloths. I do my very best to offer him the most natural and healthy foods I can find, which will be one of the most difficult things to do if you have a picky eater, like we do. I found ways to make it work, though. No one is perfect, not even the influencers. So let's agree to be kind, and helpful. We're all just out here trying to do our best, but we can't know everything.

If anyone ever needs some product suggestions, I'll have some available in my human PR category. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have a question, or would like for me to elaborate on specific items.

Thank you so much for reading, and God bless you.
